Before you go

A few useful answers.

Is Port Angeles a good base for Olympic National Park?

Yes. Port Angeles is a strong base for Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent and local guided tours. Add a Forks overnight for several Hoh and Pacific beach days.

How many days should I plan?

Two full days give you a northern introduction. Three or four days make more room for the western rainforest and coast, especially with a change of base.

Can I visit without a car?

Yes. Stay downtown and book local guided park days. Use the seasonal Hurricane Ridge shuttle when it is operating.

Should I book the hotel or the route first?

Choose the regions and overnight bases first, then book rooms and tour dates together. Keep the arrival day separate from full park days.
